OPTION #1: $299 Includes 2023 OEDI membership and 4 hours of training Wednesday afternoon. This also covers all-day training on Thursday and half-day training Friday morning. Please note: OEDI will have a check-in sheet for those who have registered for the 4-hour OEDI-sponsored training.
OPTION #2: $225 Includes OACP Board meeting Wednesday afternoon, along with all-day training on Thursday and half-day training Friday morning. This price DOES NOT include 2023 OEDI membership or Wednesday afternoon OEDI-sponsored training.
The Education & Training Committee has planned a great lineup of presenters including Sara Budge, Julie Parker, and Bill McAlpine (Chief Kathy McAlpine's brother). OEDI training on Wednesday includes a joint presentation by Renn Cannon (FBI, SAC Ret.) and Sheriff Mike Reese (Multnomah Co. S.O.).

Sara Winegar Budge ExitUSA at Life After Hate Program Director
|
Sara Winegar Budge, PsyD is the Program Director of ExitUSA at Life After Hate, an organization that provides services to support people who are exiting violent extremist movements. She is a licensed psychologist in Oregon whose past practice focused on assessment and treatment of adolescents and young adults.
Dr. Budge has taught the psychology of terrorism at the undergraduate and graduate level, and currently serves as an instructor in the graduate program at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Response to Terrorism at the University of Maryland.
Topic: “Violent Extremism in America: Understanding the Threat” Violent extremism represents an ongoing and growing threat to law enforcement professionals. This presentation will provide an overview of contemporary violent extremist movements, their targets and tactics, and the range of threats posed to law enforcement and the communities they serve.

New Membership Dues Structure
A new dues structure will take effect during our upcoming dues renewal period in January 2023. Click here to view the message that was sent out which explains this change in more detail. Dues renewal invoices will be sent to all OACP membership chiefs (who will now be considered Key Contacts for the Agency Organization) in December.

Membership Application Period Now Open
Recent changes in the OACP Bylaws required some creative and challenging editing to our membership application form. After many hours and even more drafts and test submissions, our new revised membership application form is now ready to roll! If you have staff members that you would like to become OACP members (to be reviewed at our January Board Meeting), we are now ready to receive applications. We apologize for the delay.
