Topic: "It's not Elusive: Cultivating an Inclusive, Ethical Culture"

Developing and protecting the organizational culture is the chief executive’s primary responsibility. Culture is to an organization what personality is for an individual - it helps those who will interact with your organization know what to expect and is communicated through observable behaviors. Envisioning an inclusive culture is easier than implementing that vision. Using behavioral science we will explore how focusing on critical items at the individual, team, leadership, and organizational levels can help the leader cultivate the ethical, inclusive culture they’ve envisioned so that it becomes “how we do things around here.”

Conference Sponsors:

Last week, in coordination with the Oregon Association Chiefs of Police, GMI hosted a webinar for administrative and IT professionals within law enforcement to share the latest in license plate recognition (LPR) technology. Thank you to all those who attended this valuable presentation! For those that missed, the recorded event is now available to watch for FREE and at your convenience.

FirstNet Built with AT&T was a Platinum Sponsor at this year's Annual Conference. Once again they are stepping up to the plate to partner with us at our Fall Conference. We appreciate when companies make a long-term commitment to our association, and we encourage our members to take the time to look at the product they offer.

Chief Cory Darling Retires

The OACP congratulates Chief Cory Darling (Sunriver PD) on his upcoming retirement on August 31. Chief Darling's distinguished 34-year career in law enforcement includes 30 years at Bend PD and the last four years at Sunriver PD as the chief. He is pleased to have accomplished his goals at Sunriver PD and is content to hand over the department to the next generation of leaders. Chief Darling has been a valuable member of the OACP since 2008, having served on the Small Agency Committee and as Board District 13 Representative. The OACP wishes him a relaxing and fulfilling retirement.

Congratulations to New Sunriver Chief

The OACP congratulates Michael Womer on his appointment to Chief of Police of the Sunriver Police Department, effective September 1.
