Oregon Concerns of Police Survivors The Oregon chapter was established in 1993 after the deaths of 2 Multnomah County Sheriff’s Deputies in a vehicle crash caused by a drunk driver. Their mission is to provide support for families and co-workers of peace officers whose deaths are directly related to their sworn duties. They work to encourage public support for law enforcement as a profession, and as individual officers, and to inform the public of C.O.P.S. and its work both locally and nationally.

"I would like to thank the OACP Scholarship Committee Members and the OACP Membership as a whole for selecting me as the IACP Conference Scholarship recipient this year. Without the scholarship, there would be no way my city could have afforded to send me to this event.
"What a memorable experience I had at the conference. The information I obtained from the classes I attended will serve me and my department well into the future. I made several contacts, from all across the country, which has increased my network of Law Enforcement professional contacts that I will be able to use as sounding boards when I find myself in situations I have not dealt with in the past.
"I must apologize to the members of the OACP for not attending the night out with OACP members. My stomach does not allow me to do boats and it would not have been a pleasant experience for me or anyone standing near me.
"Thank you again for this opportunity, I will forever be grateful."
