The OACP acknowledges that smaller agencies often have different needs and challenges compared to larger departments. This could include:
- Resource limitations: Smaller budgets and fewer specialized units.
- Unique operational needs: Challenges related to officer shortages, shift structures, and response times.
- Training requirements: The need for specific training tailored to the unique circumstances of smaller departments.
This focused event provides valuable training, networking, and practical solutions designed specifically for Oregon’s smaller departments. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with peers, share strategies, and strengthen your agency’s leadership and operations.

NEW ACTIVE MEMBERS
Chief Matt Smith, St. Helen's PD: My favorite hobby is working out at the gym. I spend about two hours a day, six days a week, exercising. It is by far my favorite hobby. My favorite band is Son of Legion. Imagine a combination of rock and blues. For a vacation, I just want to be on a warm beach with my wife. As for food, nothing beats a burger and fries.
Captain Clarice Gordon, Forest Grove PD: My dream vacation would probably be Bora Bora and my favorite food is definitely seafood.
Captain James Murphy, Canby PD: Hobbies; I enjoy coaching my kids, lifting weights & micro farming. My music choices are angry metal, unless I'm with my wife, then it's Christian country music. Also, what's a vacation?

NEW OTHER ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
Sergeant Jessica Dalton, Eugene PD -I love staying active, whether it’s doing a CrossFit workout, skiing down the slopes, or traveling in my conversion van to explore new places. When it comes to music, Christmas music is my favorite—there’s just something about that time of year that makes everything feel a little more magical. If I could vacation anywhere, I’d head straight to the stunning coastlines of Portugal and Spain to soak in the history, culture, and beautiful beaches. And when I’m hungry, tacos are always the go-to—simple, flavorful, and accompanied by a margarita.
Regional Manager Gary Wright, OLCC - I spend as many days fishing as possible.
