OACP Award Program
With anticipation of an in-person annual conference in April, along with the OACP awards banquet, we want to encourage OACP members to begin thinking now of individuals to nominate for an award. Many members of the OACP (both currently working and retired) are worthy of recognition. There are also non-members in communities around Oregon who qualify for available awards. In the next several weeks, we will be featuring various awards, along with a list of individuals who have received awards in the past.
If you would like more information on the available awards and a link to the nomination form, click here.

New Member Fun Facts!
In our recent membership application process, we gathered fun facts about our new members by asking the following questions:
- What hobby do you like to spend time on?
- What's your favorite music genre?
- If given a chance to vacation somewhere, where would it be?
- Feeling hungry? What food would you grab first?
We hope you enjoy learning a little bit about these new OACP members. We will be featuring additional new members next week.

Captain Cameron Ferguson, Newberg-Dundee Police Department
I enjoy spending time with my family on our boat. Music genre? Country music. Vacation? Scotland. Food? Chips & Salsa
Captain Jerry Drum, Albany Police Department My favorite hobby is brewing beer. I own a small batch brewery called Sector 7 Brewing. There are only two types of music….Country and Western. Scotland for a vacation spot. I am not a go out and eat person, so anything smoked on my “Original Mt. Angel made Traeger.”
Lieutenant Matt Olafson, Monmouth Police Department In my free time, I enjoy coaching youth sports in and around the town where I am raising my family. This includes my childrens' teams as well as the local high school. I don't necessarily have a favorite music genre, it depends on the mood. Most of the time my radio station is either set on Christian radio or Country radio. Taking my family camping in our trailer is one of our favorite vacations. We enjoy going to Eastern Oregon and the Coast. Like most people, pizza is probably my favorite. However, if it is something quick, picking up Chicken and Rice (#4) from Yang's (Western Oregon University graduates know the spot).
