Our Executive Board is comprised of six dedicated members. In this spotlight, we're featuring Chief Nick Troxel of Tillamook PD, the newest addition to the OACP board. The remaining members were highlighted last year. If you don't recall reading them, you can click here to read their responses.

What is a piece of advice you wish you could have told your younger self?
I would tell myself to slow down.  Don’t rush through life, time passes too quickly.  Focus on the present moment and truly enjoy it. Oh, and definitely wear sunscreen!

Is there a particular person, movie, book, or experience that has influenced you?
Without a doubt, my parents.  Their unwavering support, love, and guidance have shaped me into the person I am today.

If given a free afternoon (or evening), how would you spend it?
I’d spend it with my family.  Barbecuing in the backyard, playing yard games, making homemade ice cream and roasting s’mores around the fire.  There’s nothing better.

What was an activity you enjoyed when you were around 10 years old? Do you have a picture of you from that age?
I loved riding my dirt bike.  My friends and I would spend hours outside building tracks and creating “sweet jumps.”  It was a nonstop adventure.

Tell your fellow association members something they might not know about you.

I had the incredible honor of presenting a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington County, Virginia.  This was during a High School Leadership trip to Washington DC when I was as High Schooler.
