Champions for Children & Youth Award

 The following awards were given by Martha Brooks from Fight Crime: Invest in Kids at the Recognition Dinner which was held in Hood River on May 7. 

Presented to Chief John Teague (Keizer PD) and Chief Matt Workman (Warrenton PD)

 Fight Crime: Invest in Kids honored Chief Workman and Chief Teague with the 2021 Champions for Children and Youth Award for their extraordinary commitment and leadership toward helping kids get the right start in life and for their support of the most powerful weapons against crime – prevention.

2021 Membership Card Campaign

Membership cards will be ordered for all new Active, Associate, Retired and Life members from the past year. Be looking for them in the mail in the next month.

Congratulations to Chief Gary McCullough (Coos Bay PD) on his retirement coming up at the end of June. Chief McCullough has been an OACP member since 2007 and has served on various committees and as the District 10 representative. The OACP wishes him a restful and happy retirement!

A Change of Command Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 15 at 5:45 pm for retiring Chief McCullough and incoming Chief Chapanar. OACP members are invited to attend. Please see the flyer here with the details.

Senate Bill 317, which allows licensed establishments to sell “mixed drinks and single servings of wine in sealed containers for off-premises consumption,” previously passed the Oregon Senate in March. It cleared the House Tuesday by a vote of 51-7. The bill now moves to Gov. Kate Brown’s desk.
