OACP News

We're excited to use these next two summer months to feature our Summer Spotlight, as has been our tradition in recent years. Each week we'll highlight a certain benefit or tool available to help you get the most out of your OACP membership. At the same time we are introducing a new look to our Weekly Update. We hope our members enjoy the updated look.

Executive Resources Programs:

1. Interim Executive Leadership Assistance Program  (Linebacker): Provides interim Police Dept. leadership to cities during periods when a vacancy has occurred in the office of the Chief of Police.

2. Agency Review Program: Provides management consulting and technical assistance to member chiefs of police and to departments whose Chief is a member of OACP. ARP provides a service for departments, in coordination with their Police Chief, to receive a professional review of police operations and management systems, utilizing recognized law enforcement best practices standards.

The OACP would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to Co-Chairs Chief Jeff Groth (Sherwood PD) and Chief Jim Band (Oregon City PD) for their diligent work with this important committee, and for providing leadership to several cities that have asked for their assistance in the last year.

OACP Committees

We invite you to join one or more OACP Committees for the 2021-2022 year. The OACP is a member-run association and these committees are vital to ensure that the association runs efficiently. We encourage you to review the various committee descriptions and check the ones you are interested in. Make sure you indicate ALL of the committees you are interested in, even if you are currently on the committee. Previous involvement on a committee WILL NOT be transferred to this year unless you mark that committee box.

Welcome New Chiefs

The OACP welcomes new Chiefs Scott Robinson (Myrtle Point PD) and Ty Duby (Baker City PD)  and wishes them great success in their new role.
