Know a student that is pursuing a career in law enforcement or criminal justice?

Each year, the OACP awards $1000 college scholarships to select students who plan to enter a law enforcement or other criminal justice career. The OACP is committed to promoting professionalism and we value the presence and contributions of educated men and women in these fields. To further our commitment, the OACP provides competitive college scholarships for qualifying students. Encourage someone you know to apply. New Chief in Scappoose

The OACP welcomes Chief Steven Lougal, Scappoose PD. Chief Lougal comes to Oregon from Bridgeport, Connecticut where he spent his entire 25-year law enforcement career. His initial focus at the department will be hiring more officers and keeping them attracted and engaged through opportunities like a K-9, motorcycles, school resource officers, and detective units. Chief Lougal wishes to build relationships in the community by hosting Coffee with the Chief events as well as getting to know the leaders of neighboring law enforcement agencies. Chief Lougal is not currently an OACP member, so take a moment to reach out and welcome him to the neighborhood and encourage him to join the association!
