OACP's summer board meeting was held at the Mt. Angel Abbey thanks to President Mark Daniel who serves this charming town as both the City Manager and the Chief of Police. Chief Daniel made arrangements for an informative tour for those board members able to stay for the afternoon. The tour was led by Father Andrew and gave everyone an inside look at the Abbey. One of the highlights was seeing the beautiful Martin Ott Pipe Organ in the Abbey church, with its 2,478 pipes!

TRAINING CORNER
Each week this summer we'll be looking back at past training and feature a presentation that can be accessed on our training platform. Consider viewing one of the highlighted videos (or having someone at your agency do so) for additional training credit.
“Avoid the Pitfalls of Inwardness to Maximize Your Ability to Lead!” Presented by: Desmond Lomax
In this session, attendees will learn about proven, practical tools to influence change in individuals and across organizations. Participants will come to fully understand that to effectively influence others to change we must let ourselves be changed…and that one of the best ways to change ourselves is to truly focus on others’ needs, challenges, and objectives. By the end of this session, participants will have been introduced to tools that will help them change their own perspectives and then invite others to change in ways that reduce resistance and inspire commitment rather than compliance.
This 4-hour presentation can be found in the "F6 | Leadership" package on the Training Center.
