The Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP) is pleased to welcome Chief McGrew, who will officially join the City of Turner in early February. A familiar face in the community, Chief McGrew has called Turner home since 2007.

Chief McGrew began his law enforcement career in 1996 as a reserve with Polk County before serving with the Milton-Freewater Police Department, where he held roles including Field Training Officer, Use of Force Instructor, Narcotics Detective, & Corporal. In 2004, he continued his career with the Forest Grove PD, gaining additional leadership experience as a Field Training Officer, Use of Force Instructor, Motor Officer, and Sergeant. After years of commuting while remaining rooted in Turner, he is excited to begin this next chapter serving the community he proudly calls home.

The OACP congratulates Chief McGrew and wishes him every success as he assumes leadership in Turner.

The OACP also extends it's appreciation to Chief Don Taylor who provided more than 30 years of dedicated service to the City of Turner. Following his official retirement last September, Chief Taylor graciously contracted back with the city to ensure continuity during the leadership transition.

Britt Oase & Special Olympic athlete, Jack Kain (pictured with his father), joined OACP during ELTS. Jack shared how SOOR has changed his life, while Chiefs Gwen Johns & Jim Hamilton highlighted the powerful impact Oregon LE support is having statewide for Special Olympics Athletes.

The Polar Plunge fundraising goal is nearly 40% to its financial goal for this event - officers are encouraged to join an event near them & help make a real difference.
