The summer board meeting took place on July 31st in beautiful Albany, where OACP President Chief Marcia Harnden took the lead. It was a productive and engaging time for those who were able to join us in person. For those who couldn’t make the trip,  a Zoom option was available so everyone had the opportunity to participate and stay connected. Whether around the table or tuning in virtually, the involvement of our members keep our association moving forward!

Chief George Burke, Board member for District  4, joined us in Pendleton during our April conference - however, he had to depart early and was unable to attend the awards banquet.

The summer board meeting provided an opportunity for Past President Chief Mark Daniel, to formally honor Chief Burke with a well-deserved President's Award.

OACP leaders voted in Chief Kelly (Astoria PD) as District 1 Representative, replacing Chief Nick Troxel .

NEW ASSOCIATE MEMBERS

Lt. Freddy Sotelo - Hermiston PD

Lt. Chris Martin - Hermiston PD

I like to play golf and spend time camping with my family. I like classic rock (my son calls it old man music). We recently vacationed in Maui, and we would definitely go back. My favorite food choice is Mexican.

NEW ACTIVE MEMBERS

Chief Pete Rasic - Sunriver PD
Much of my time away from work is spent outdoors. I enjoy running, hiking and stand-up paddle boarding. I enjoy all sorts of music from classic rock, alternative rock, modern folk and country music. There are many places I would like to vacation. I would one day like to go to the Maldives for surfing. I love food and I love cooking. No particular type of food is my favorite.

NEW ACTIVE MEMBERS (cont.)

Captain Robert Guerrero  - Hermiston PD
I'm an avid outdoorsman,  enjoying rafting, golfing, and hunting in my free time.

Lt. Randy Weaver - Lincoln City PD

Lt. Wayne Chastain - Baker City PD

I’ve been umpiring baseball and softball since 2006, up through the high school level. I’ve worked three Western Regional Little League Tournaments—most recently in 2024 in San Bernardino, which even aired on ESPN+. I retired from the Oregon National Guard in 2016 as a Command Sergeant Major after 24 years, including three combat deployments (two to Iraq, one to Afghanistan) and a stateside mission to the Salt Lake Olympics.

Outside of umpiring, I enjoy woodworking, aviation (both flying and fixing), and escaping to the Baker County mountains with my family. Born and raised in Baker City, I’m still here—meat-loving, classic rock and old country fan (not Beyoncé), proud husband, dad of three, and grandpa. I once vacationed in Austria and Germany and would go back in a heartbeat.

Thanks to our Conference, Education & Training Committee, presenters are being locked in & the Schedule is being finalized -
