A Message from OACP President Mark Daniel
Since you are reading this now, we are at the annual spring conference in Pendleton. I am very happy to be here with all of you who made the trek to attend, getting an opportunity to be together again, to re-connect, to learn and to take a few moments to relax and unwind in a safe environment, specifically and painstakingly designed for you, the Chief of your organization, to participate in something larger than ourselves. This is an opportunity to share, recognize, and to connect in a meaningful way which lifts each other in support.
I do want to take a minute to extend my sincere appreciation to the conference committee and the Victory Group for their diligent efforts in organizing what we have promised to be some excellent training and a memorable event overall but very special each day.
Once the conference concludes, there will be an opportunity to sign up for committees. The committees are the backbone of the organization and are where the real work gets done. The committee chairs have all done an outstanding job with their committees, and the members have also not been shy about participating. This shows that we have a strong association, filled with members who are interested in doing good things for each other and our communities across the State.
As my time as your President of the OACP draws to a close, I want to mention how grateful and humbled I feel to have been your President. I truly appreciate each member for your support, dedication, and collaboration throughout the past year. One of my goals for the year was to inspire more collaboration, and I believe that we hit that mark early this past year, Thank you!
I am very proud of the things that we have done over this past year as an association. From elevating the quality of training to establishing an envied way to review potential trainers to the work being done today in the 2025 long legislative session. Thank you for the opportunity to serve with you, the members and staff of OACP. I will be leaving my position with a sincere feeling of pride for being a part of something that is truly making a difference for Oregonians.
Like the leaders who have served in this position before me, I want you to know how grateful I am to have worked this past year with Kevin, Marie, Chloe and Liz. I would like to recognize them collectively for their leadership, organization, and unwavering support of us all during this past year. They are a key team that helps make the OACP great through laser focus and servant leadership.
Mark Daniel
2024-2025 OACP President
