Committee Sign-ups

Are you interested in getting involved in the OACP? Consider serving on one of the many committees that is helping the association make a positive impact. The encouragement below from Chief Jason Schermerhorn may be just the motivation you need.

"After joining the OACP and attending some of the conferences throughout the first year, I immediately felt welcome.  I met many different law enforcement leaders who quickly became friends and resources for me.  I often wondered how such a great organization was able to function at the many levels it does.  Well, besides all the wonderful work over the years by The Victory Group, it happens because of all the Chiefs that give more.  I found out about all the different committees and signed up for several that interested me.  I have learned a lot more about OACP and other agencies, but also about some of the current issues going on in our profession.

We often don’t think we have time for more commitments, but I have found that this does not take a lot more of my time, and it is a benefit to me personally and also to my department.  The best part is that there are so many different committees that there is definitely something for everyone, whether you’re a small department or a large department, 2nd in command, chief, or retired.  I have found I enjoy the conferences so much more by being involved and knowing more of the attendees through involvement in committees."
~Chief Schermerhorn (Cannon Beach PD)

We are asking that every member who is interested in serving in this capacity fill out the survey below, even if you are currently on a committee. Please submit the survey by Friday, June 5.
