A moment of recognition for, and congratulations to OACP Director Kevin Campbell on receiving the Oregon State Police Foundation's “Gerry Frank Foundation Award” during OSP's biennial Superintendent Salute.
|
As the sole award recipient, Kevin was recognized for his significant contributions and lasting influence on public safety in Oregon. The award was presented by Superintendent Casey Codding, with retired OSP Superintendents, Governor Ted Kulongoski, and Foundation members in attendance. It was a well-deserved honor made even more meaningful by having his family there to share in the recognition and celebration.

Each week this summer we'll be looking back at past training and featuring a presentation that can be accessed on our training platform. Consider viewing one of the highlighted videos (or having someone at your agency do so) for additional training credit.
|
What fellow members said about this presentation:
- "How can this not be useful? This was excellent. We are a small agency with very little to no wellness program. That is going to change."
- "He is spot on and this is a great follow-up to Emotional Survival, another required course for ALL in our profession."
- "This man is the real deal, I would have listened to him for 8 hours."
|
Course Description: This presentation offers evidence-based strategies for personal, as well as organizational, wellness from recruitment to retirement. It provides proactive wellness strategies that strengthen resilience and that enable officers to recover and heal from their daily work traumas that cannot only cause suicide, but post-traumatic stress and other psychological and emotional distress that plague our honored profession. It also provides a path for organizations to create mechanisms for wellness and support for their officers/dispatchers. It is a blueprint for individual success, organizational effectiveness and professionalism, and positive community impact. (2 Credit Hours)
