2021 OACP/OSSA
FALL LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

 Where:
DPSST - Salem, OR

When:
September 29 & 30, 2021

Click here for a preliminary schedule.

Mark your calendars for this in-person conference.
More information to come.

This morning, Kevin Campbell gave a Legislative Process Presentation at the Oregon School Resource Officers Association Conference. Kevin urged conference participants to proactively engage in the Oregon legislative process as that has the potential to either enhance or impede the work of school resource officers. Effectively working with the legislature can be daunting, complex, and challenging, but failing to engage is a recipe for disaster and harm. A few keys to success are: authentic relationships with members of the legislature, absolute integrity, telling a compelling story, and support from a community of advocates.

Pictured with Kevin Campbell (OACP’s Executive Director) is Mike Jackson (OSROA’s President) and Rick Puente (OSROA’s Vice President).

Congratulations to Chief Ray Rau for being sworn in as Tillamook Police Department's new chief. Although leaving Nyssa PD is bittersweet for him, we're confident he's leaving it in good hands and in good order. The OACP wishes Chief Rau success as he now takes the law enforcement leadership reign in Tillamook.
