OACP MARKETPLACE:

If you're needing to purchase a product or service for your agency, consider doing business with one of the vendors listed in our Marketplace. Each of these vendors contribute a small fee to be included in this resource. Take a look to see if there are any products or services your agency could benefit from.

Go to Vendors > OACP Marketplace for a list of Vendors who have paid to market at this site.

Is your agency using services or products from companies that you think might want to partner with the OACP or advertise with us? Let us know and we will reach out to them. Or, direct them to our website.

The OACP Board met at the beautiful Mt.  Angel Abbey  for their quarterly meeting. Thank you to OACP President Chief Mark Daniel for making arrangements for the meeting, and for a tour afterwards.

The OACP board gathered at Mt. Angel Abbey's Guesthouse.

Review of  the OACP budget, Membership Report, Committee and District updates, were all underway this afternoon.

Chief Jason Schermerhorn enjoyed a small treat for his birthday!

OACP President Chief Mark Daniel (along with Executive Director, Kevin Campbell) facilitated the board meeting.

After the business of the day, it was time to celebrate and award Deanna Moore for her service to the OACP.

As she steps into the next chapter of her life, the OACP wanted to celebrate her 5 years of service to the association. Deanna's hard work always exemplified her dedication to our members and her commitment to the law enforcement community at large. Thank you for your service Deanna!

President Chief Daniel presents Deanna with her award.

TRAINING CORNER

Each week this summer we'll be looking back at past training and feature a presentation that can be accessed on our training platform. Consider viewing one of the highlighted videos (or having someone at your agency do so) for additional training credit.

The C.A.L.M. Approach, Comprehensive Verbal and Physical De-escalation

Presented by: Robert King

This practical solution provides personnel with a safe and practical de-escalation response matrix. It should be used to mitigate a potentially violent encounter whenever a weapon is not involved. It was not designed or intended to impede or restrict law enforcement's public safety mission. When the C.A.L.M. Approach™ is employed properly, it can protect officers by reducing the negative impacts of public perception, civil actions, administrative proceedings, and criminal charges and increase safety for everyone.

This 2-hour presentation can be found in the "F6|Mental Health" package on the Training Center.

OACP's Newest Active Members

Chief Patrick Richards, Malin PD -
Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs. Golf is his go-to sport, and he’s involved with various veterans' causes. Country music is usually on the radio, and he’s traveled almost everywhere in the world you could imagine but enjoyed the Azores and Italy the most. Pizza would be his go-to comfort food, or Stouffers lasagna for some weird reason, he acknowledges.

Mark Williamson, DOJ -
Mark loves to travel,  and has been to Spain, Ireland, England, Scotland, Iceland and Jamaica. Raised in Boston, he loves all the Boston sports teams.

Lt. Andrew Roberts, Black Butte Ranch PD

Mark and his wife will be married twenty-five years this August. They have two boys; one is attending Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) in Klamath Falls and the other is a senior at Pendleton High School and will be attending University of Idaho (U of I) in the fall. Their family lives on a few acres on the outskirts of town and usually have cows, chickens and pigs. Mark enjoys the daily chores required to maintain their little "farm." In the fall, when not working the Pendleton Round-Up, he can be found in the mountains enjoying archery season.

Sgt. Jonathon Lamoreaux, Silverton PD -
Jonathon was born and raised in the small town he now polices in. He loves to spend time outdoors as much as possible whether it be hiking, hunting, fishing, traveling, or camping. Jonathon has two children, a boy and a girl, and enjoys watching them participate in sports and other activities. Grilling or smoking meats is another favorite pass time as well as trying different types of smoked, grilled, or BBQ foods while traveling. He loves traveling in the PNW, but if he had the time would not mind expanding travels to outside the US.

Sgt. Jeff Charpilloz, Silverton PD -

Peter spends his off time on 2 wheels as much as possible, whether riding or racing his dirt bike, exploring the backcountry on his adventure bike, or mountain biking. If given the chance to vacation anywhere, Peter would choose the African Continent for an extended period to explore the many countries and cultures on a motorcycle.
